The Yahoo! group Paratuberculosis is Open
This new paratuberculosis group [new window] provides a forum for the discussion of the disease caused by the bacterium of the same name.
Paratuberculosis is an infectious bacteria that causes Johne's disease in cattle, other ruminants, and some primates and evidence strongly supports the theory that it is a primary cause of Crohn's disease in humans. Persons with immune deficiency are at risk of disease from paratuberculosis infection. Why isn't paratuberculosis officially listed as a disease the same as its cousin tuberculosis?

A Work in Progress
Welcome to the new DaleRoose.com. Return visitors will notice some big changes in progress, not only in presentation but in content to reflect changes in my personal life.
The MAP page offers a brief introduction to a possibly significant threat to our health security—a bacterium in milk that survives pasteurization and may be responsible for many instances of diseases traditionally assumed to be autoimmune.
The Garden and Landscape pages will discuss ongoing work in my yard located in Tucson, Arizona. This arid environment presents special challenges not found in most of the U.S. including reduced availability of water aggravated by global climate change, temperatures that range from close to 120°F in the summer to as low as 20°F in the winter, and a personal need for low maintenance. Learn about how I'm addressing these challenges to create a sustainable oasis in the desert.
The old Website was primarily concerned about global politics and I'm still concerned and connected, but I've come to realize that the struggle for what's right is never-ending and change won't come until people are ready for that change. In the meantime, I plan to look for a balance between working for tomorrow and living for today. To provoke thought about important issues, I've just added a blog so please check back occasionally.
